Watch Your Words

How many times must we be reminded to watch the words we speak? It's been said millions of times how words have power to create, build, or destroy. Yet many of us use them so recklessly, as if it doesn't mater. If we take twenty-four hours to listen to what's being said from our lips, we may be appalled by our words. As we verbally design a life of unhappiness and discontentment, so easy it is for some to only speak the negative. Words filled with complaints and very little thanksgiving. Do you ever wonder what would happen if God removed all the things we fail to give thanks for?

Imagine what he's hearing out of your mouth from the moment your eyes open until they close. Are they words of gratitude for life or are your words filled with all that's wrong? Often in forgetting how powerful our words are we tend to forget that someone is always listening to every thing we utter. Did we create the chaos in our lives?

Sometimes our circumstances are results of words we've released, they're simply doing their job. Coming back to us and fulfilling what we've sent them to do. Biblical principles we want to remember, "life and death are in the power of the tongue" and "the tongue is as the pen of a ready writer". Whatever we say, we shall see. By no means am I suggesting life doesn't challenge us to the point where we forget the meaning of our words, I am simply reminding us all to become more aware of what's coming out of our mouths. To really think before we speak and to be slow to speak. Especially when our emotions are on high alert, we blurt words out without considering the cost and damage we are creating for ourselves and those we love. Question, what are you saying and what are you seeing? If you don't like the results of your words, change them to match what you want to see. We are works in progress, without excuses. Today let us decide to speak only good, and tailor our words to produce positive results.
