The Benefits of Rejection

Updated: Aug 11, 2023

So many times we view rejection (not being accepted or considered) as a bad thing. Today let's consider the benefits of rejection and learn how to turn what can seem like something negative into a positive. We've all had our feelings hurt or egos bruised by rejection, but how often do we consider the lesson behind this? At times we overlook how rejection was a hedge of protection. Have you ever been rejected for a promotion or a job you felt qualified for? Immediately we find all sorts of reasons why things did not fall in our favor.

Did you ever consider someone else may have been more qualified or there was a better position around the corner for you? There is always a lesson for us to learn when we aren't accepted. The worst thing one can do is take on a pity mindset, by doing so we give away our power. We've all experienced being overlooked, it's life. The trick is, not getting stuck there. Instead, use it as a reason for moving ahead. It's easy being a victim but takes strength and courage to keep going. Many times we fail to realize when we stop growing because of rejection we are hurting ourselves, not the one who rejected us. Let's grow up and face life head on. Accept the fact that rejection will come, but we want to begin viewing this from a new perspective. Asking ourselves what lesson can I learn, what better may be waiting my arrival? We must not internalize another person's view of us. Feel the hurt, heal from it and continue on. There are benefits to being rejected, more than likely we were settling when life and God has so much waiting for us.

. . . “It’s easy being a victim but it takes strength and courage to keep going”. ENOUGH SAID!
