Temperament

Today we are revisiting the topic of temperament and how it plays such an important role in our lives. I am making a more conscious effort to be mindful of how I feel and react in each situation. Convinced of the health benefits associated with doing so.

Last week as I sat in traffic that was stop and go, maybe 5 mph, I found myself a lot less annoyed than what I would have been in the past. Once I made it to my doctor's appointment, arriving late, I was shocked that my blood pressure wasn't through the roof. Although I felt calm sitting in traffic the blood pressure reading told the full truth. Often we feel out of control and I think it causes so much frustration that we loose ourselves in the moment. With the many things happening in our world today I really want us to take in the goodness of life, and live from a sense of calmness. By now, we are aware of the health hazards a bad temper can cause. And the many benefits of keeping our emotions in check. It takes effort and work but once we begin doing so and feeling the positive effects I think it will cause us to work more on being less annoyed. Let's think about it, is it really worth getting so worked up over? Sometimes the best things we can do for ourselves is to simply let go and live. Releasing the negative thoughts and behavior patterns, while knowing the things that set us off. Doing our best to avoid them, and if they are unavoidable being mindful of our response. Your life is too important to go day after day angry and annoyed with the world. The power to control our response is within. I hope you are inspired by this post to live this day in calm and do what you can to keep a good temperament .

Advice that could literally mean the difference between life and death. Reminds me of the old saying- we can’t control what others do, but we have full control how we respond. Great post!
