Slow Days

More recently I find myself moving a little slower and with a greater sense of purpose. I was once a person who hit the ground running upon waking up. It's really interesting that I get more done while going through the day at a slower pace. Sometimes we think that slowing down equates to being lazy or less productive. I disagree, it's made me more productive. Recently without thinking much about it, I found myself writing a to do list for the week. At the start of a new month I am creating a list of goals or things I want to do on a monthly basis. Not being in a constant state of rushing allows me to use my time more wisely and it's opened my eyes to see so much goodness that surrounds me. It was easy for me to overlook people and things because I was always in a hurry. Yet I failed to realize how much I was missing out on. Making the decision to live my life at a slower pace is serving me well. And it's ok if everything isn't completed today. It will get added on to the next day's to do list. There once was a time that I would stand in my kitchen and eat dinner, quickly. Just to move on to the next thing. Now, I sit down and enjoy my food. That includes savoring the flavors and being greatful for the meal. Constantly rushing and feeling rushed was the state of my life. Giving myself the ok to slow down was just what I needed. It's been a work in progress. Think about ways that you can slow down some, and ask yourself what am I missing? Who or what am I overlooking? As our lives move forward we want to live in a way that we have very little to no regrets. Sometimes slowing down is needed, I've found that it has given me a more meaningful life. Which is fascinating because my eyes are opened to seeing just how beautiful life is, in its most simplest way. There's nothing fancy about the current state of my life yet I feel most fortunate. I hope you are inspired to add slow days to your calendar and find ways to slow down just a little. Never forget, we are unstuck, and we are free!

Awesome insight. In this fast-paced world that we now live in, we all should take time to slow our pace to fully envision our priorities in life.. Too often, we find ourselves always being busy, never stopping "to smell the roses" so to speak. But when we don't slow down, it doesn't allow us to fully focus on what we need to do to succeed. On time words of wisdom....
