As the moments pass by I find myself thinking about the quality of my life. Wanting to do things that will preserve and increase my overall well-being. From my daily choices to those I connect with, the question becomes is this adding or taking away from me?
Sometimes we are so caught up in caring for others we fail to recognize the harm we're causing ourselves. We can lose who we are, and forfeit our dreams because we aren't holding them in high regard. To preserve ourselves we must keep a tight grip on who we are and understand what we are worth. Life can beat us down if we let it. Something I've come to accept is this, despite the challenges there will always be someone who's faced the exact problem and over came it. Which tells me, we too have what it takes to conquer every difficulty that comes our way. When we find ourselves throwing a pity party for one, remember it's life and is subject to change. You are too important, don't allow anyone or anything to destroy your dreams. Preserve yourself by first loving and embracing who you are, the good and bad. While healing the brokenness from within. Reclaiming what we've given away and living as a whole person. Live well, love yourself well. And preserve your life, it's too valuable not to do so.
Absolutely important to do. We can’t take care of others if we don’t first take care of ourselves.
