No Is A Complete Sentence

How often do we find ourselves explaining why we said no? Let's remember no, is a complete sentence and does not require an explanation. Often times the person being told no seem to think they are entitled to a reason.

I am sure many of you can relate to someone trying to guilt you in to saying yes . From my experience saying no was once a hard thing to do, which I think stemmed from the need to please. It's pretty sad that many times we feel obligated to say yes at the expense of ourselves, no isn't a bad word. Someone once said to me that I should be honored that I was asked, as they couldn't believe I actually turned this particular person down. Which seemed so out of line to me, we all reserve the right to say no. No is one of the most powerful and empowering words in our vocabulary. And contrary to the belief of many, it is by far a complete sentence. We are unstuck and we are free.

I know that’s right! Only thing more required after the word “no” is a period. If someone is looking for an answer or a “reason”, it’s sitting right there in the period. This is awesome!
