Have you heard the saying, beware of wolves in sheep clothing? Or encountered someone who appeared to be one thing but was actually something else? Often times we go through life with blinders on and closed ears, not realizing the impact connections are having on us. Each relationship we develop, be it personal or professional, influences our thinking and actions. Personally I have interacted with people who presented themselves as having my best interest at heart, but as time unfolded so did their motives. It's easy to overlook, especially when it's someone we like or admire, but I've realized that jealously and deception can breed in the heart of anyone who allows it.
Isn't it interesting how after the fact, many are left wondering how did this happen? In my experience it happens because we overlook or brush off the warning signs. We pretend not to notice them. I am a believer that God always gives us a warning. Although we may not realize that's what it is, there's always something that "red flags" us to the individual. Their comments, their jokes and actions. The future is bright, we must remain laser focused on the destination. Removing any stumbling blocks that may appear, while holding dear those people and connections who sincerely support and honor us. May I encourage you to listen closely to the words of those around you, are they building up or tearing down? We only want to surround ourselves with positive influences while releasing anyone and anything not in line with our future.
Very true and insightful!!
