Grow Up

There's nothing more sad than a person who refuses to grow up and expects others to treat them like a child. Our lives are filled with moments for growth and expansion. Which requires us to improve and change, it's easy to remain in a child like mindset pushing the responsibility on to others. Don't allow yourself to become the caregiver to a person who chooses not to grow up. A child's wellbeing is in the control of their caregiver, the parent or the adult has the weight of managing their lives as well. Too many people are wanting to push the duty of their lives onto others. It's time to grow up and take the lead role in our lives. When we fail to step fully into adulthood we revert back to childish behavior and expectations. I am not a hand holder, I will give you the information and what you do with it is up to you. I wasn't always this way, there was a time when I wanted to fix things for others. Until it dawned on me that in many instances I cared more about the outcome than the person I was helping. People will do whatever they want to do, I made the decision that I would always toss the responsibility back to the other person. Growth is a choice that requires discipline and commitment. If you are surrounded by people who want to remain in their childlike thinking that's their choice. Don't allow it to stop you from progressing. And don't feel bad about your personal growth, many times it will cause those connections to naturally fall apart. Scripture teaches us in Ecclesiastes 3:1, To every thing there is a season , and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Now is the time to grow up and take charge of our lives. From my personal experience I can say when my thinking shifted from poor me to I can do this my life began turning for the better. As I grew in thought it also changed my behavior. 1Corinthians 13:11, When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." I've come to understand that age doesn't always equate to growth or wisdom. There are many who are considered adults age wise but have the mindset of a child. We want to grow not only naturally but in all phases of our lives. We owe it to God and to ourselves to grow as much as we can. It's time to put away childish behavior and grow up. Let go of offenses, poor attitudes, and choices. And most of all take full responsibility for our decisions and our lives. Thank you so much for reading today's blog post. I hope you are moved to growth and inspired to greatness. And never forget, we are unstuck, and we are free!
