Like it or not money plays a huge part in our lives, and many of us have felt the sting of being rejected financially. Think back to a time when you may have applied for a loan or credit card and were turned down. It's not a good feeling, especially when we feel our options are limited. I recall feeling rejected financially when I defaulted on a personal loan and how the bank employee made me feel. But I didn't dwell on those feelings very long, for some reason I found myself shifting from rejection and shame to anger and power. Thinking to myself that I was not going to lose control of my money and realizing it was time for me to make immediate changes.
It was through the rejection that I found my freedom, and discovered I no longer wanted to be at the mercy of anyone when it came to money. I accepted the role I played that brought me to that place but I also discovered I had the ability to turn things around. I know that my view of living on cash is not popular but for me it was the drastic change that I needed to make. While I still have a few lines of credit that I am currently paying off, I can honestly say living a cash life has been the better option for me. All it takes is one missed payment to start a domino effect in your finances. If you find yourself drowning financially I want to encourage you, it is possible to turn things around. For me, the way out was eliminating my dependency on credit cards. I knew all of the creditors and the amounts owed to them and began working my way paying them off. I opted to remove the temptation of using credit by destroying the cards and closing the accounts. Many financial advisors would advise against this. But I need to take drastic measures to gain my freedom. Don't allow financial rejection to hold you back from being economically free. You can move past the mistakes and live a life of economic freedom.
