Do Not Compromise

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you compromised your values for it? At times it may seem like doing so is the only way to succeed but there's a high price to pay. Why does it seem like we're more willing to be a follower (often ignoring our morals and values) than we are willing to be a leader? I get it, it's easy to follow the crowd and not make waves. But is it worth it? And when did we lose our voice and ability to think for ourselves?

Standing by our beliefs can be unpopular at times, but backing down from what we internally know to be right speaks volumes about our character. I've seen firsthand the impact compromised behavior can have. And it wasn't pretty, it caused a lack of trust and hurt. As we encounter people along our lives journey, we must maintain our integrity. When we compromise, we place ourselves in a position to be controlled and manipulated. Sometimes I think it's God's way of showing us areas we need to improve upon. We may hold ourselves at a high moral standing but life has a way of revealing the truth. Often pointing out just how imperfectly human we are. Which is ok, it's there for us to correct and continue on. May we all live lives of integrity and respect.
