Calmness

Writer's picture: Q. PeaQ. Pea

What's preventing you from living in a state of calm? From personal issues to the challenges of those we love there's always something trying to get us worked up. One of the best things I've done for myself is to implement the many ways God has instructed us to live. Scripture teaches us to let not our hearts be troubled, to think on things that are lovely, to cast our cares on the Lord, to trust in Him and lean not to our own understanding, to acknowledge him in all our ways. God has provided so many guidelines for us to follow that will allow us to live life in a state of calm. And banish the anxiety and worries that daily life thrust upon us. When we turn to God for help and become honest with ourselves about our difficulties and struggles it is a game changer for the way we live. It must become a daily choice to follow His principles which is the only way we will experience the results He's promised. God will reveal such practical ways of doing things once we turn to Him for help. This world will keep you in a state of panic and fear if you allow yourself to become entangled with it. I know enough to be aware of what's happening without being consumed by the information. If my mind isn't calm it will have a riple effect on my health and everything else pertaining to my life. When we live in panic mode it doesn't change what's happening but it does change our health and mental state. I once was the person who would ask God for help but in my mind I always had a back up plan. That wasn't trust that was unbelief and fear. God has a way of allowing things to happen where we have no other option but to trust Him. He speaks to us in many ways, it's not His will for us to live in fear and worry. Life will happen to us all how we respond and how we trust in God's Devine plan is up to us. We can not live a calm life if we open ourselves up to listening to the wrong people or too much of the never ending news cycle. People seem to have forgotten that God is bigger than anything or anyone. The time we use to complain and moan about what's happening, we must learn to pray and seek God's guidance, allowing Him to comfort us. Many people have placed too much confidence in other people and systems. I believe God will allow these things to fall and people to let us down so we can remember who is really in control. Find calm through the real truth which is God's word. May we take hold to what He's said and allow His ways to guide us into a lifetime of internal peace and calmness. And never forget, we are unstuck, and we are free!
