Be Open to Receiving

Are you good at accepting goodness when it comes your way? Often we believe for good things to happen and when they arrive many people find it difficult to accept. Why is that? Is it false humility or a feeling that you are undeserving? This is an area that I've become much better at. Biblical principle does teach in Luke 6:38 that being a giver comes with many benefits. One is that men's hearts will be touched to give to you. My mind has shifted from finding it difficult to accept good things to, of course, someone wants to be good to me. I have learned that appreciation for the smallest of things is equally important as showing thanks for the larger blessings. Some people are constantly giving of themselves in many ways, yet they refuse to accept when it's their time to receive their blessings. Do not despise any good that comes into your life. I know a lady who would give me fruit, dried beans and ten dollars as a gesture of love. Those items meant so much to me because they were given from her heart and from her limited resources. And she would be offended when I tried to return the money, to this very day I simply smile and with a greatful heart say thank you! When we shut ourselves off from small blessings we really aren't prepared for greater things to show up in our lives. I believe it is important to have a balance of giving and being open to receiving. It's how things work, what we give is bound to make its way back to us. So be careful with the seeds you're sowing. And appreciate the harvest when it comes, become good at receiving. Never forget, we are unstuck, and we are free!
