Act of Faith

When it comes to the money we manage sometimes we must do certain things in faith. Have you ever felt the need or desire to manage your money differently or to save? I believe that is when we must act in faith. Many fail to realize that God could very well be preparing us for something to come, that is unexpected and not on our radar. I am learning more to be mindful and attentive to the nudges or suggestions when they come. I understand an act of faith as doing, without knowing the end result, while trusting. For example, I felt led to stop depending on credit cards and live on cash. Many disagree with this and it's ok, it's what I felt inspired to do. Truth be told it was one of the most liberating things I've done for myself. Was it a challenge?

Absoultley!!! But it opened my eyes to the many bad habits I had developed. And how I actually had more disposable income than I realized. The problem was, it was going to pay debt. It was an act of faith to contact the banks and watch my credit score drop, but the benefits have outweighed it all. I think back often to times when so much of my income was to credit card debt. Now, only a small portion is being paid out as I contiune working my way to debt and financial freedom. Now when ideas pop in my mind regarding money managment I listen. God knows what the future holds and I have enough faith in him to know he wants only the best for you and me. Recently the thought came to pay a little more per month on my mortgage. And to truly tighen up my budget, to know where each penny is going. The ideas and suggestions do not come for us to ignore, they come to prepare us and make our lives better. I hope you are inspired to listen a little closer to those nudges and act on them. Especially when you don't see why you should, it just may be the best decision of your life.
