I Am...

Have you lost your identity? Do you really know who you are or have you transformed into the person others say you are? My desire is to be who God created me to be, to fully embrace the individual he designed. I know what it's like to have people tell you who you are. And deep down inside know that their idea of who I should be is completely different from who I really am. I made a decision years ago to let go of the image others had of me and figure out who I really was. In doing so I found that I am not who they thought I was. It allowed me to gain the freedom of embracing the uniqueness of myself. As I contiune on this journey and the layers of who God created me to be are revealed I am reminded of a passage of scripture in Psalm 139:14, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. We are who and what God says, the opinions of others should not be our concern. And it's easier said than done but as we grow and develop the judgments of others begin to carry less weight. The more I accept who God created me to be and what he's created me to do the less I fall prey to the comments of others. It does not matter what we do there's always someone willing to share their negative opinions. I am...........what are you saying about yourself? If you don't remember anything else from today's post remember this, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. As we think about our daily choices let's stop and ask ourselves why am I doing this? Is it because someone else said I should or is it because I want to. Don't give your originality away, be more than ok with the person God created you to be. We are created in his image not the image of our friends or families. I am strong. I am fearless. I am resilient. I am loved. I am important. And never forget, we are unstuck, and we are free!
