With so many things grasping for our attention it can be difficult to simply be in the moment. You know, allow one thing to have your undivided awareness. This is something I am working on, certainly a work in progress for me. As I sit in the quietness of my office I feel a sense of calmness. There's no one asking for anything or interrupting my thoughts. Yet the phone is near by and it seems like there's always an alert going off, which reminds me that it's time to disable some of the notifications. I am finding that I want to live in the now, I feel like it brings a deeper level of peace. It's calming to the mind and body, when our minds aren't all over the place it allows us to focus. And enjoy what we are momentarily doing, it also causes us to slow down and not feel rushed. Recently I started taking a new route to work as the interstate traffic seems to be at a constant grid lock. I felt calm and a sense of appreciation for a slower, yet more scenic commute. Sometimes the longer way is the better way, we often avoid the road less traveled. I want to encourage you to take note of how you are living day to day and find beauty in being present. We overlook so many wonderful things that surround us because we are typically in a hurry and usually doing more than one thing at a time. I hope today's post has inspired you in some way to live a more fulfilled life. We are unstuck, and we are free.
